QphoriQ is Leo Vasilets, a DJ and producer based in Belgrade. He started the project in Moscow in 2019 and has worked from Belgrade since.
The approach is analog by choice. Modular synths, hardware and tape recording are the working method, and the stated goal is to keep the sound organic and raw rather than tidy it up in software. He DJs on vinyl.
His first releases came in 2019 (Rave On, Drop In, Black Out, Fertilizer). In August 2020 DEAD CERT. Records placed his track Statique on DEADCERTBLACK002, a vinyl-only various-artists 12" limited to 200 copies, alongside Marco Effe, Arnaud Le Texier and William Arist. In January 2021 the Berlin label Corpus opened its Corpus Vinyl Cuts series with his 12" Quasars Infrared (CVC01), introducing him as a newcomer from Moscow with a minimalist, purist sound.
Two records followed in 2022. Emeral Journeys (FIDES014) came out on Fides Records in July — four electro-tinged tracks on 12" with a remix by label boss Z.I.P.P.O. In October, Denver's Science Cult released Terahertz, a five-track EP carrying a remix from Detroit electro veteran DJ Di'jital.
2023 was his busiest year: the Latus EP on Florian Meindl's FLASH Recordings (1 September), Tahles on the Portuguese label trau-ma (22 September), and the six-track Wonch like Woo on Diffuse Reality, which carries a remix by The Exaltics. Diffuse Reality pressed Wonch like Woo to 12" vinyl (DREA021) in February 2024. He also recorded Diffuse Reality Podcast 292.
By his own account, his tracks have been played by Ben Sims, Umwelt and Freddy K.
He has played Sonic Shift twice. Episode 27, Deep & Colorful House Collection, was a vinyl deep house set — swinging drums, records played rather than mixed. He returns for episode 36 on 2 August 2026 with a techno vinyl set, which is closer to what his own records sound like.
