Medest

Medest is a DJ and producer working in the space between drum & bass and UK bass. He describes his own sound as dark writing crossed with the modern strain of bass music, close to urban culture — moody, rhythmically sharp, built for late rooms rather than daylight. His own line for it: "A soundtrack for those who move in the shadows."

He produces as well as plays. Releases include singles such as Tape Me (2024), Control and Do Like That (2025), Coltra, Enigma and Black Dirt (2023), and he works often with the producer nootro — their Максимальная Сила came out on the label Outlaw Rec., which his Instagram bio lists him as the founder of. The same label put him on its Reward vol.3 compilation. In February 2024 he played a guest mix on the Bassland Show on DFM radio.

For Sonic Shift #28 he played a DJ set that sits exactly on the seam his records sit on: dark drum & bass on one side, UK bass on the other.
